As Star Wars mania sweeps the globe, we’ve seen several brands and advertisers get behind the movie franchise and borrow its galactic theme.
Google has teamed up with UNIT9 and 72andSunny LA to create a Star Wars-inspired digital experience.
If you haven’t had a chance to see the film yet and are worried about reading a spoiler online, fear not. The Lightsaber Escape experience allows users to enjoy the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens film from the comfort of your smartphone, without spoiling any of the movie’s surprises.
To play the mobile-controlled game, users should visit this website via the Google Chrome app on their phones. (Instructions are below.)
Players will be transported onto a Star Destroyer ship, where they will have to face and fight oncoming Stormtroopers.
The game uses second-screen interaction and links the gamer’s smartphone to the computer screen, transforming the phone into a lightsaber.
Users can protect themselves and edge towards escape by moving their mobile device and respond to oncoming attacks.
Successful players will be able to escape the transport shuttle and travel into another galaxy. To find out more information, click here.
