powered byWith summer in full force, festival season is well and truly upon us.
It’s now culturally acceptable to be caught camping in a field, dancing the night away, listening to live music, beer in hand and embracing summer freedom, surrounded by all your friends.
While this may be the vision that gets you booking festival tickets year after year, the reality can be quite different once you’re there – particularly at the bigger and busier events.
Low phone signal and busy crowds means realistically it may take longer than the average two hours to be reunited with your group.
Inspired by the fact that 6.5 million hours are spent every year finding friends at festivals, Pepsi Max has launched Friend Finder – a project that will track down your friends and guide you to them.
Unveiled at this year’s New Look Wireless Festival, the Finder was a huge success – after downloading the app, a GPRS-powered blimp came flying through the air and tracked down their friends... even when they were on the toilet. Revellers also kissed and danced with the Finder.
Pepsi Max has targeted the festival circuit this year in an attempt to make festivals even more user-friendly. The brand also launched Dance Meter at Belgium’s Summer Festival (below) – a dancemat-type flooring that responds to dancer’s energy levels and increases the volume of sound accordingly.
Pepsi Max hopes that both concepts will transform festival experiences and make them fun-filled rather than stressful.
