New York-born singer Mapei set out on a mission to get Europe dancing.
On a nine-day road trip across Europe, stopping in six different countries and creating an eight-part TV series called Reality Road – it seemed quite a challenge (to put it lightly…)
But with the help of her best friend and director Liza Minou Morberg, the pair were determined to encourage viewers to step outside their comfort zones and pursue an adventure of a lifetime.
The series sponsored by Volvo – who provided the vehicle and experienced driver Jens Karlsson to ferry them across the continent (who has a secret soft spot for the friends) – was created for Maipei’s latest music video Million Ways to Live.
The promo is certainly unique. The girls run into all sorts of trouble – on the ferry, the girls manage to persuade a group of drag burlesque dancers to perform a version of the song to reluctant travelling truck drivers; they enlist the help of a stuntman to drive the 16-foot-vehicle on two wheels and make peace with their driver by singing freestyle on the water’s edge in the Swiss Alps.
Not only is the reality series a great watch, but the music video and the story behind it is pretty inspirational too.
