Childhood favourite Action Man is the star of this clever new campaign created for Veterans for Peace with production outfit Agile Films.
Breaking through from a retro ad break, the seemingly innocent ad from director Price James gets darker and darker as the viewer begins to realise that the ad is actually for a serious cause - to raise awareness about teenage men being enlisted for war.
The spots within the spot plug three new figures which are as far away as the original macho toy as you could throw a grenade and the accessories that come with the casualties enforce the message further, playing on bad mental state as well as disabilities in the physical and visible form.
Matt Berry provides the voiceover for the piece and the film was made with creative Darren Cullen. Read more about Veterans for Peace and the campaign here.
