Mexican bookshop chain Gandhi Bookstores praises the power of the written word with this clever campaign comprised of two spots with a very different feel.

Created by Young & Rubicam Mexico both ads differ in all aspects apart from the message they deliver.

Weapons proves the pen is mightier than the sword by recognising the power of knowledge, as rioters take to the street armed with books. Evolution is an animated celebration of the addictive quality of reading, and how one book leads to another and sees great works of fiction from Moby Dick to Hamlet referenced.

Both spots were produced by Central Films and helmed by Rodrigo Garcia Saiz.
