Far Cry 4 Asks What You’re Made Of
Grey Paris creates one digital platform with four interactive rites of passage to promote new video game.
For the European launch of video game Far Cry 4, Grey Paris has created a unique interactive campaign with 42 million possible routes, offering a completely different experience from one user to another.
Far Cry 4 is a FPS game set in an uneasy and menacing open-world, putting the player out of his comfort zone. In such extreme context where reality is never what it seems, the player’s choices are always put at stake; so how will you react? What are you willing to do to save your life?
The agency has created one digital platform with four interactive rites of passage. Each rite is composed of interactive films in which the user has only a few seconds to make a decision and get out of the extreme situation he is trapped in.
Each choice he makes triggers another sequence of events, pushing the user to make another choice and so on and so forth.
In total, the digital platform can create up to 42 million different routes. At the end of each rite, the user’s choices are analysed with a specific algorithm that determines his personality based on 5 criteria: toughness, violence, bravery, endurance and wisdom.
Damien Ricci, Grey Paris’ MD/head of digital operations, said: “We wanted to create a unique engagement plan that would constantly surprise the users and entice them to come back on the platform. With more than 42 million routes possible, it is guaranteed that each user will have a unique experience as well as very own anecdotes to share with his peers.”
