McDonald’s Launches 40th Anniversary UK Campaign
Fast food chain celebrates its birthday by showing it’s been in the background at all of life’s special moments.
Tomorrow (Saturday 30 August) sees the launch of a new caign for McDonald’s as the restaurant chain celebrates its 40th anniversary in the UK.
As the restaurant chain celebrates four decades, the caign sets to remind people that McDonald’s has been there in the background of many moments all through their life. It looks back at some of these moments, featuring times that are charming, funny, touching, happy, sad or poignant. It looks at moments that are big – such as passing your driving test or having your first child as well as everyday occasions like having a natter with friends.
Created by Leo Burnett, the TV caign launches this weekend in the commercial break of the first X Factor show of 2014, with four 30 second ads titled The Just Passed Your Test Drive-Thru, The Cing Trip SOS, The Nervous First Date and The Just Moved In Reward.
Following the launch, six executions will rotate on TV with the additions of The Bubbles Is Now In Heaven Chat and The After Movie Natter). All the ads will be complemented by iconic music tracks from the 70s.
The TV work, directed by Pete Riski at Rattling Stick, is supported by a national outdoor caign comprising of eight executions which aim to remind people that McDonald's is always there for them.
