ADC Announcements

ADC has announced the jurors for the 93rd Annual ADC awards. As well as naming this year’s judging panel, the organization has refined the awards to include more current categories and removing non-relevant sections. The deadline for the awards is this Friday (17 January) for the following categories: design, illustration, motion, photography and student (all categories). Lions Health opens for registration

Lions Health, a new festival from Cannes Lions celebrating creativity in healthcare marketing is now open for registration. The event, taking place on the 13th and 14th June 2014, has also announced its first speakers including Shirley Bergin, chief operating officer of TEDMED and James Cheung, global creative director of TBWA/WorldHealth. AICP announces details

The Association of Independent Commercial Producers (AICP) has announced that Caviar MD/executive producer Michael Sagol will serve as chairman for the 2014 show: The Art & Technique of the American Commercial. As part of his duties Sagol will preside over AICP Week, which includes the AICP Next Awards, as well as the Directors Lecture Series. AICP week will take place over 10-12 June in New York. Humble West Coast expansion

Humble has moved into a new office space in Los Angeles. The new 6,000 square-foot base, formally home to Caviar Content, will be headed up by West Coast EP Ned Brown, who joined Humble early last year to lead the expansion. Joining Brown in office will be coordinator Brynne Copping and office manager Shalane Miller. Along with the new space Brown has announced the company’s plans to sign new additional West Coast-based directing talent to the roster in the coming weeks.

Engine Company 1 rebrand

San Francisco agency Engine Company 1 will now be known as Chemistry Club. The new name reflects the company’s passion for experimentation and exploration. Rebranding the agency was a year-long effort with all staff getting involved to lend their creative talents to pitch ideas. Chemistry Club will remain in the former Engine Company 1 office.

YGA announces deadline

YGAwards, the awards that recognise the future of the communications industry has announced this year’s deadline as Friday 31 January 2014. For full details and entry requirements click here.

FWA winners announced

The FWA (Favourite Website Awards) has awarded MediaMonks and DDB & Tribal Worldwide Amsterdam the People’s Choice Award for the Nitrocharge Your Game campaign for adidas. In addition to the People’s Choice Award, site of the year was announced as Pharell Williams for the site 24 Hours of Happy. Nitrocharge Your Game had previously been gifted the FWA Site of the Month, FWA Site of the Day and Mobile of the Day awards earlier in 2013.

PromaxBDA announces Brody

Internationally renowned designer, typographer, art director and brand strategist Neville Brody will deliver this year’s creative keynote at the PromaxBDA Europe Conference slated for the 24-25 March 2014 at London’s Park Plaza Westminster Bridge Hotel. The two-day event is Europe’s largest gathering for entertainment media marketing, design and promotion professionals. For a full list of speakers and further information click here.
