Most football fans dream of coming face to face with a star like Lionel Messi, but the question is; would they stroke his little head, kick him in the shin or poke him in the eye?

In order to show the finer points of EA Sports’ FIFA 14 game, Widen + Kennedy Amsterdam has created “the world's first life-size living avatar”.

On visiting the dedicated website, users are prompted to match their hand to the size of Messi’s (in order to ensure he appears at the correct size according to the monitor’s specification) before the Barcelona star’s face fills the screen.

From there, users can click on various parts of Messi’s body and watch his lifelike reactions, which are used to explain features in the new game. For example, click on his boot and Messi will show you how he can use the outside of it to shoot, bending the ball in a way not possible in previous FIFA games.

Have we tried punching him in the nuts? What do you think?
