Signings at Nice Shirt, A Band Apart, Form, Manifesto Film, and many many more...

New production company Nice Shirt, set up by directors Stuart Douglas and Jon Hollis and producer Richard Martin, has signed Tareq Kabaisi for commercial representation. Kabaisi is better know as a colourist for VTR, but has directed a number of music videos and is currently working on a commission for Channel 4.

"I'm very excited about producing for Tareq," said Martin. "It must be obvious to everyone who knows his work that he has a very special visual sensibility. I'm looking forward to getting him out of his dark room, putting him together with some of the people we work with, and seeing what we create." Kabaisi will continue to grade with VTR alongside his directing projects.

A Band Apart Commercials in LA has signed feature directors Gary Ross (of Seabiscuit fame) and Gary Fleder (Runaway Jury) for exclusive commercials representation. This is the first time either director has been available for commercial work. A Band Apart will rep Ross and Fleder in the US and internationally through its affiliates in Europe and South America.

Director Karina Taira has signed to Form in Los Angeles for US representation. Taira has directed spots for L'Oreal, Alfa Romeo, American Online and Covergirl Mascara, and is also well-known for her advertising and editorial stills photography. She joins Form from Believe Media.

Manifesto Film in London has signed a whopping five directors, and has relaunched. The directors are Bob Rice (repped by Plum Productions in LA for US work), Jim Solan, Rogier & Emiel, Keiren O'Brien, and Pierre Monnard. The directors join John Clayton and Ivo Wejgaard who have been with the company since its inception.

The Story Companies in Chicago has signed directors David Popescu and Christina Hodnet for exclusive US commerical representation.

Zena Loxton has joined Mad Cow Films in London as directors rep. Along with her production skills, Loxton, originally from Perth in Australia, has also introduced Urban Golf to adland, so is also available for golfing tips.

The Mill in London has four new additions to the company: producers Lee Pavey and Daniel Sapiano, who join from Golden Square Post and Das Werk in Hamburg respectively, and Flame artists Yourick van Impe and Hsu-Hung Tai.

Senior producer Alison Wendt and senior visual effects artist Martin Goodwin have joined One in London. Both Wendt and Goodwin join the company from blue.

Sophie Hooper has joined production company New Moon in London as executive producer. Hooper joins the company from Vermillion and will be responsible for heading up the commercials division at New Moon.

Lauren Durazo has joined Union Editorial in Los Angeles as associate producer. Durazo joins the post facility from San Francisco ad agency See: Advertising (formerly Odiorne Wilde Narraway & Partners).

Post-production house Crush Editorial in Santa Monica has hired Lisa Cheek as staff editor. Cheek is currently working on spots for Toyota, IHOP and Chevrolet.

Christopher Zander and Diane Patrone of The Family in New York will now rep bicoastal Transistor Studios, which produces DVD, web, print and motion design for the commercial, broadcast and entertainment fields. The Family also reps Backyard, Stimmung and Cut + Run.

JWT in London has appointed John Rudaizky as global business director for Vodafone. He succeeds Alex van Gestel who moves to New York as JWT's global business director for the recently acquired Samsung business.
