The independent creative agency 22Squared, that pushes brands to do good things, announces its new executive creative director, award-winning creative director, Della Mathew.

Previously, Della led creative work at Ogilvy New York leading creative for IKEA USA and Citizens Bank. Other iconic clients included Heineken, Kodak, FANTA, Minute Maid, Motorola, Hyatt Hotels, Hershey's, Coca-Cola, Stolichnaya, and Philips. From hard-working retail and modern banking offers to big brand moments, activations, and experiences, she has spent 25 years leading a multi-disciplinary team of skilled specialists across design, production, social, digital, printed media, and video content.

Taking a page from her out-of-the-box thinking, Mathew sat down this week with her long-time friend and former colleague, Zamile Vilakazi, also 22Squared’s head of production. The two, who haven’t seen each other in person in several years, came together for the first time to share their journeys together in and out of the office.

Mathew will work alongside Zamile as well as Chief Creative Officer Matt O’Rourke and the multi-office creative department to drive creative strategy and execution for 22Squared’s clients, which include Baskin-Robbins, AdventHealth, Lagunitas Brewing Company, Southeast Toyota Distributors, NAACP, Publix Super Markets, Los Angeles Pride, McGraw-Hill, Amazon Studios, and many others.

“There’s tangible magic happening at 22Squared and it’s one of the primary reasons I joined,” said Mathew. “People that thrive always bring their best selves, their best points of view and their best ideas. I’m attracted to the brave work that is coming out of each practice area and the vision the leadership has for the entire team; that willingness to take risks and do more meaningful creative work has always been my driving force. That mentality is here in many, many buckets.”
