Dublin dads of LGBTQ children supported the city's Pride Festival last weekend as part of a touching campaign by creative agency ROTHCO.

For ten years, public transport provider Dublin Bus has supported the city’s annual Pride Festival by providing an open-top tour bus. This year they decided to fill their buses with proud dads, giving them a platform to support the festival and display how proud they really are of their children. Antidote's director Jamie Delaney helmed the heart-melting film, which was created in response to research revealing that many Dublin dads wanted to support the festival but didn’t feel it was their place to join in.

The film features a collection of fathers surprising their LGBTQ children by showing up at their homes on the morning of the festival to round them up onto the gaily-coloured Pride bus. Along with the sweet sentiment, the tone is balanced by a touch of mordant Irish humour – one Dad approaching a raucous home to pick up his son says "I hope they've a defibrillator in there, I think I'm going to need it."
