Last Friday [27 October] saw the 2017 installment of Ciclope - the international festival dedicated to film craft - draw to a close, with the winners of its one-eyed trophies announced at a glittering awards ceremony.

Held at Berlin's Kino International, the awards rounded off two days of talks by leading lights of the film craft world, including directing luminaries Tom Kunz and Noam Murro, as well as panel discussions, screenings and the APA-backed straight 8 industry shootout

The winning work - selected by an international judging panel of world-renowned producers and creatives from over 1,000 entries - was awarded across 46 categories divided in five sections: Brand Content (short form); Brand Content (long-form), Music Videos, Fashion Films and Digital Craft.

More than 100 trophies were handed out during the event, including three Grands Prix for Jay-Z The Story of O.J [above], Audi's live VR driving experience, Enter Sandbox and BBDO New York's powerful anti-gun PSA Evan for Sandy Hook Promise [below].

The success of the latter film - which swept the boards in multiple categories - helped propel its director Henry-Alex Rubin and production company Smuggler up the festival's points chart to bag Director and Production Company of the Year respectively.

Other companies celebrating big wins on the night included MediaMonks (Digital Company of the Year), MPC (Visual Effects Company of the Year) and The Mill (Animation Company of the Year).
