Zac Ella joins Blinkink
Ella joins the Blinkink crew for director representation across the UK and USA.
Zac Ella is an established commercial director who loves building funny worlds with funny people, with a speciality in putting grounded performances and technical craft front and centre of everything he creates.
Before turning his hand to directing, Ella started his career working across design, animation and VFX. That experience gave him the instinct for choosing the right technique to service each idea and creative challenge, whether that’s through puppetry, practical effects, set builds or animation.
He has directed work for the likes of McDonald’s, Verizon, Barclays, TikTok and adidas and is equally at home when it comes directing celebs like Chris Rock and David Beckham.
Along the way, his films have earned recognition across some of the industry’s biggest awards shows, including Cannes Lions and Clio Sports for his work with adidas, and a UKMVA win for Best Pop Video [Budget] for Rent Boys.
For Ella, joining the Blinkink crew is the start of an exciting new chapter where he gets to refine his movie magic with a creative community who have such a knack for craft and precision.
There are no room for quitters in Ella’s high-energy live-action film for Sports Direct, created for the brand’s annual winter wellness and running campaign, This Isn’t Quitting Season. To launch BetMGM in the UK, Ella was tasked with creating a persuasive campaign that captured the unmistakable spirit of Las Vegas, fronted by none other than one of the biggest showmen on the planet: Chris Rock.
ITV and Veg Power enlisted Ella to bring their Eat Them To Defeat Them’campaign to life, turning a star-studded cast including Emma Thompson, Jamie Oliver and Amanda Holden into a mischievously evil army of vegetables.
Ella put his signature spin on a series of fake “recruitment videos” for Supercell’s monster-hunting RPG mo.co, crafting a high-energy live-action campaign shot primarily in-camera. The films feature live stunts, pyrotechnics, hand-built miniature sets, model cities, and prosthetic limbs.
