The third in Klipdrift’s Friends With Purpose campaign, the Biking Bandits story is beautifully weaved together by Jason Fialkov, who was once again, both director and DOP for this spot.
The benefit of helming both the storytelling and visual direction of these films is evident in the end results. The Biking Bandits film, like the two that preceded it, is an intimate portrait of the beauty and potential of friendship.
This film strikingly illuminates the story of how Tiyiselani Mashele, Tsatsi Rantsatsi and Tebogo Galagala came to start an urban cycling movement in Soweto in late 2020. They share their passion for cycling as both a means of socialising as well as a way to reclaim the Soweto streets.
