Washington Square Films
has signed award-winning director duo Ben/Dave. With work shortlisted at Cannes and profiled in The New York Times, the two are making a (compound) name with their quirky, imaginative but highly deliberate and curated commercial work.
 
Ben Hurst and Dave Thomas met years ago in Salt Lake City, where Ben was directing spots and Dave was an agency creative director. The two collaborated on several projects before Dave took a job at Crispin Porter+Bogusky and created work for such high-profile clients as Coke and Microsoft. In 2009, the two joined forces in their current home base of Austin, TX.
 
Ben's filmmaking experience and Dave's agency background are perfect complements, helping the duo generate ideas that push the creative elements of every project they work on, while collaborating tightly with agency and client teams. They've recently produced work for such clients as Honda, Samsung, Progressive Insurance, Heinz, GE and a string of award-winning campaigns for Shiner Beer. Most recently, their "Double Straw" spot for Jarritos Mexican sodas was shortlisted at the 2013 Cannes Lions competition.
