An announcement was made in the Silicon Valley, that Tokyo-based AOI Pro. Inc. and Bascule Inc., collaboratively developed VR Dream Match - Baseball, by which a realistic baseball experience could be experienced through the realistic replication of a baseball player’s actual pitch. This is the first VR content undertaking by AOI Pro. who is aiming to penetrate the VR/AR sector through “the integration of visuals, technology, and data.”

By wearing a head-mounted display, VR Dream Match - Baseball allows the user to have a highly immersive feeling of being in the field and playing against baseball pros.
The use of data to produce user experience is a hallmark of this project. Data Stadium Inc., supervised the effort. Using data from regular games in Japan and the US, VR Dream Match – Baseball, they were able to re-enact the pitched ball’s speed, rotation, and trajectory in precise detail. It is envisioned that in a few years’ time, it will be possible to recreate data from regular games almost in real time.

Programming was done by Bascule, visual production was provided by AOI Pro., CG production was created by Digital Garden Inc., an AOI Pro. Group company with vast accomplishments in the field of VR content.

Although VR content that allows users to experience different realities already exists, VR Dream Match - Baseball, by applying real data, attempts to differentiate itself by providing the virtual experience to actually hit a ball thrown by a professional pitcher.

After the expected November 2016 general release, the aim is to further energize, evoke interest, and intensify dreams toward the baseball by making available this experience at various events.
Further development plans include improvements such as adding a function for users to play against each other and, in collaboration with US and Japanese baseball team, contribute to the development of player’s skill.
