We all have a Mr. Americo in our lives.
It may be in our city, in our neighbourhood, or near our workplace. It’s that restaurant that receives us with an open heart and a big smile. It’s the place where they know our name, what we like, and how we like it, whether that’s medium-rare or overcooked. It’s a place where we are regulars because the food makes us feel at home, and we want to come back for more.
Throughout the country, too many “Americos” – restaurants, diners, coffee shops, and businesses – are suffering too much with the pandemic. Some have managed to stay afloat, but in reality, most are still struggling to survive.

The latest Vodafone Business campaign, Mr. Americo, illustrates how Vodafone can be much more than a commercial partner. Because each business or client is different, Vodafone helps each one find the best solutions and tools to make it through the worst of times. On these occasions, the values of Vodafone collaborators and people stand out. Behind each business, there is a woman, man, family, or friend; there is also a bit of ourselves and our community. With this campaign, Vodafone hopes to help make a difference by bringing a bit of encouragement and hope to all the businesses out there.
The campaign film was directed by Paco Cruz (Furlined), produced by Major West, and shot in Lisbon in the old, iconic district of Alfama.
All COVID-19 safety guidelines were followed.
