Varo Bank is reimagining the modern banking experience by providing customers with access to safe, affordable financial products in order to build long term resilience and financial power. In previous campaigns, Varo focused on positioning itself as a bank on a mission to help provide access to quality banking products for all.
For the next chapter, Varo worked with agency 22Squared, their brand and strategy agency of record since March 2022, to continue its mission through a new campaign: That Bank, evolving with customer-centric messaging that highlights their needs and special moments in their personal financial journey. The campaign will run across paid and owned social and digital channels along with contextual digital OOH in key regional markets.

The campaign uses That Bank to highlight customers’ needs and desires; for example: That Moving-Out-of-Mami’s-House-Bank, That First-Stamp-in-My-Passport Bank. The new campaign aims to show customers that Varo is thatbank that is going to help them make that bank.
Varo is focusing on the customers' unmet financial needs during a time of heightened economic pressure and is designed to nurture success and build trust.
The insights driving the campaign were based on a nuanced understanding of Varo’s target audience, a group that’s hustling for a brighter future, working on their financial health as well as wealth, and wanting to use the benefits of secure bank technology to build budgets, manage debt, and move from making ends meet to making that bank. These are people working towards brighter financial futures, and they’re doing it with guts, ingenuity, and determination. Some may come from underserved communities, but they remain unbowed. Varo is that bank on their side, that bank that they can trust, that regulated, digital, and built from the ground up bank for the way people manage their money in today’s fast changing and uncertain environment.
