UNIT, the boutique independently owned post production studio, continue their expansion by welcoming the talented and highly experienced Executive Producer Danny Coster, previously the Director of Moving Image at TAG.

Coster joins UNIT’s thriving team of Executive Producers with a wealth of experience in this role and the industry itself. With an impressive twenty plus year career in the world of moving imagery, Coster has built up a large client base with many returning again and again to work with him. This has led him to work with some of the very best agencies and production companies across many different sectors of advertising across sport, beauty, auto, music, food, drink and beyond.

Coster’s passion for character animation drew him to build up an impressive creative work portfolio including being responsible for producing campaigns for all sorts of characters, from comedic BBC Children’s series Little Howard, bouncing oranges for Tropicana, racing the Duracell bunny around the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, to Easter egg hunting with M&M’s.

Coster says of some of his work highlights: “I love working with food and drink brands. Who doesn’t?! I have been lucky enough to produce and co-direct content for clients such as Carlsberg, Tetley, Mars, Lucozade, WowHydrate, Nespresso, Wagamama, Byron Burger, and Wasabi.”

Starting his journey into the advertising world with a passion for content creation, production, and post; Coster joined Locomotion as Rostrum Camera Man / Digital Artist before working his way up to commercials Online Editor and VFX Artist in their London and Düsseldorf facilities and eventually as Creative & Managing Director of Loco in Soho where he remained for over 10 years.

His experience in leadership roles taught him many valuable skills such as collaboration, quick thinking and his dynamic and passionate energy can be felt in how he brings teams and projects to life ensuring everyone's creativity can flow.

Coster’s next progression took him to LEAP as Head of Moving image. In this role, he was responsible for leading and consulting across all forms of integrated production and post - ensuring operations and team management, content production, channel adaption, logistics and technology cost planning including cloud-based technology.

In mid 2021 Coster was headhunted by TAG Collective Arts to take on a new role as their Director of Moving Image, to focus the moving image strategy and make sure it was appropriate for their client base, in both technical expertise and ways of working. This drive to create work of the highest quality and at the most effective margin, helped contribute to the sale of TAG to Japanese marketing giant Dentsu.

Coster joins at an extremely exciting time for UNIT as they open the doors to their new 8 storey boutique home on Margaret Street Fitzrovia this May.

On joining UNIT, new Executive Producer Danny Coster comments: “I am super excited to join the talented team at UNIT and apply my experience of creatively collaborating across agencies and brands, while continually exploring and integrating cutting-edge technologies into our projects. The integration of filming in Virtual Studios, Digital Twins, Realtime CGI and other emerging AI tech is really exciting for the future as this opens up endless creative possibilities and I can’t wait to meet our creative and tech teams and get to work welcoming clients to the new UNIT studio.”

Ian Luxford, Managing Director says about Danny’s new role: “I am thrilled to welcome the extremely talented Danny Coster to the production team at UNIT. Danny's large network of connections and his experience working with big brands adds further depth to our hugely experienced team of executive producers we have here at UNIT.“
