Here at SourceEcreative we’re always keeping our eyes peeled for the next best thing, whether it deals with product or with the people in charge of shooting it. Lately we’ve been watching the talented crop, albeit crowded crop, of emerging directors - and felt we would be in arrears if we didn’t fill you in on the ones we are categorizing as Up & Comers. Below are a couple of directors that have caught our attention:

 Trevor Cawood
of Spy Films

Trevor Cawood specializes in high concept visually driven filmmaking.  As a director and former VFX supervisor, he has won numerous awards inclusive to being nominated at the 53rd and 51st Emmy Awards as well as garnering three Clio Golds and one Silver in 2005.  Cawood puts a lot of demands on himself artistically and loves to be apart of the creative process.  He has worked with major athletes and celebrities and brings a wealth of experience, dedication and understanding of the creative process garnering him respect in four continents.  Check out his reel through the link above.

Joe Leih of Sparks Productions

Joe Leih, lauded for his clever comedic storytelling and subtle humor, was recognized as an exciting new talent on the commercial production scene when his viral PSA for marcandtom.com won a Bronze Cyber Lion at the Cannes Advertising Festival in 2005.  Born and raised in Texas, Leih caught his first glimpse of the film and television industry in 1995 when he ran Texas A&M University's annual film festival.  Having made his directorial debut with the short film, Dead Battery, Leih, realizing that rent was due every month, turned to what he was headed to all along - directing commercials. With one eye on the future of advertising, Leih continually explores the possibility of new media formats and new effective methods to reach audiences, without forgetting it’s always the storytelling that matters.
