Parodying the epic grandeur of Hollywood action, Tore Frandsen directs three new films for adam&eveDDB’s Electrifying Movies campaign: Heist, Superhero, and Secret Agent.

From a superhero on the cusp of teleporting into a futuristic new world, to a secret agent painstakingly manoeuvring through a maze of lasers, each film plays into the tropes of Hollywood clichés and storytelling.

The films share a climactic build up where the tension is all of a sudden thwarted; someone quite literally pulls the plug on the electricity to charge their Volkswagen, and our comic hero comes crashing back down into reality.

“I wanted to create a truly cinematic universe that spared absolutely no detail, because without believability, the humour falls apart. From the intricacies of set design to getting the most emotionally intense performance from our actors, our filmic world had to replicate those Hollywood studios, and in only 15 seconds!” said Tore Frandsen.

Tore’s approach juxtaposes epic performance tension with the deadpan simplicity of perfectly-timed comedy. The playful script and highly cinematic craft of the films captures the true magic of cinema while playing into that light-hearted “rug-pull” moment. Paired with new—land’s reputation for its craft in cinematic storytelling, the award-winning director Tore Frandsen was the perfect fit for a humorous project of this kind.
