The Sweet Shop Zeroes in On Mario Zozin

Mario Zozin signs with The Sweet Shop.

The Sweet Shop has announced the signing of Director Mario Zozin for global representation and management (excluding his home market).

Zozin brings a visual approach to film that has won him numerous international awards. Amongst his impressive achievements to date have been winning silver at Cannes 2008 for his Adidas - Pure Performance spot, and again in 2009 Cannes Young Director Award for his short "Oleg - Life of a Weightlifter." A further two Gold Lions were picked up in 2010 for his Hamburg Philharmonic Orchestra commercial. He grew up in the small town of Remagen, Germany, on the banks of the River Rhine. He spent several years acquiring hands-on production experience in all facets of filmmaking in the nearby city of Cologne. However it was his talent for writing and directing that prevailed; after a stint at writing and directing for television,  e enrolled at the prestigious Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg.

For the director, joining The Sweet Shop is the next step in his career progression. "When I was still at film school, I felt that The Sweet Shop, along with its sister company, The Rumpus Room, offered tremendous creative potential," he says.  "Now, having the chance to exploit that potential fully, is not only an amazing thought but also a very exciting challenge."

Paul Prince, CEO/Founding Partner of the production company, comments: "I'm a big fan of Mario, a director who can drive an idea with powerful emotion and visual elegance.  His work is pure magic."

Adds Stephen Dickstein, Global President/Managing Partner, "Mario is a delightful young director, who's old beyond his years in maturity while being fresh and totally modern both in style and his working practice.  We've barely begun to send out his work and have already gotten a fantastic reaction from top agency creatives."
