The Sweet Shop Elevates Preston Garrett To Executive Producer
The Sweet Shop has promoted its Head of Production, Preston Garrett to the role of Executive Producer.
As part of its deepening foothold in the North American market, global production company The Sweet Shop has promoted its Head of Production, Preston Garrett to the role of Executive Producer.
Garrett’s promotion is indicative of The Sweet Shop’s continuing commitment to service the American market on both coasts and all points in between. Working with the company’s global team, Preston will oversee all production that comes through the Los Angeles office, driving future growth for The Sweet Shop in North America by expanding opportunities for its Directors.
Laura Thoel, Managing Director of The Sweet Shop’s US operations said, “Preston has been the backbone of our LA office. He’s that rare combination of experience, logic, creativity and humor, with a touch of the professional nerd about him, which I love. He’s everything The Sweet Shop is about and I’m really excited to see him in this expanded role."
With over nine years of experience, Garrett began his career in film and commercial advertising as a Staff Production Coordinator at Form. He then worked as a freelance copywriter for commercial, TV and feature projects before joining Green Dot Films as a Staff Producer in 2011.
Garrett joined The Sweet Shop in 2014 as Head of Production working on key projects, including the first ever commercial for Houzz, as well as ads for Lexus and Walmart. He has also worked with brands Audi, Dodge, Coors, Chevy, Wells Fargo, Dannon, Houston Methodist Hospital, McDonald’s, Almay, Netflix and NBC.
Preston added, “I love making things, especially when I get to play in a sandbox with some of the most talented directors working in commercials today, and with such amazing internationally based brothers and sisters. This is the dream, and I’m beyond excited to continue evolving The Sweet Shop’s foothold in the States. We’re always evolving, always striving to tell the most compelling stories.
