Progressive’s Motaur, the mythical half-man, half-motorcycle, is back just in time for motorcycle season, with two new :30 TV spots: Interruption and New Shoes.

Both spots debut on national TV, just in time for Spring, which hopefully brings some warm weather for our rider friends!

A visual manifestation of the core customer insight that riders often feel at one with their bikes, Motaur is a way for Progressive to demonstrate their unique understanding of this audience. The spots highlight the 24/7 Roadside Assistance offering from Progressive.

In the first spot, we see Motaur on what seems like the perfect ride. He weaves along the road to the beat of the undeniably catchy Karma Chameleon by Culture Club. We hear a sound, and see that his back tire has popped. He’s not too upset though, he calmly pulls to the side of the road to start a Roadside Assistance request on his phone. He continues humming the song.

In the second spot, we see a tow truck parked outside a garage. Motaur is inside picking out new tires. He tests them out the same way you or I would pick out a pair of new shoes, offering another layer of relatability to viewers. As an easter egg, we hear Karma Chameleon in the background of this spot too.

The spots were created for Progressive by Arnold, in collaboration with production partners at Ruckus Films (including director JJ Adler), Cosmo Street Editorial, The Mill, and Soundtrack
