The Corner Shop kick off the new year with a bang, with the announcement that Aaron Ruell and Malin Ingrid Johansson have joined the roster for UK representation, through a partnership with Little Minx in LA.

The pair bring with them a diverse and stellar body of work that provide huge laughs and compelling human stories.

Ruell’s trademark brand of dry comedy and colourful whimsy always creates a lasting impression and a lot of giggles but like all great storytellers he knows how to balance absurdity with tender human stories evident in recent work for Direct Auto, NY Lottery, and Serta. He conjures worlds that feel tangible and visually pleasing with distinct art direction and pitch perfect performances from the talent behind and in front of the camera.

Over the years Ruell has worked with some of the biggest brands on the planet working for the likes of MailChimp, Advil and Kerrygold to name but a few and for all the Napoleon Dynamite lovers out there he also played Kipland Ronald "Kip" Dynamite…

Johansson crafts stories that meld cinematic scope with beautifully intimate stories that often celebrate inclusion and diversity. Johansson started out in photography before branching out into filmmaking directing music videos and commercials. Her storytelling earned a shortlist spot for the Cannes Young Director Award’s “Changing the World Frame by Frame” category. Her coming-of-age film Madden, inspired by her farm upbringing, premiered at Berlinale 2023 and won Best Swedish Short at the Gothenburg International Film Festival and is now adapting into a feature.

Johansson’s commercial career has seen her apply her uniquely delightful brand of filmmaking to Hinge, H&M and Ikea. Effortlessly cruising between offbeat comedy and stylish sophistication but what truly shines through his her approach to capturing people and connection, often creating works that feel genuine and warm.

Heather Link, Executive Producer, says: “Aaron and Malin both bring that perfect mix of craft meeting surreal humour, but always with understated charm and humanity. Aaron’s meticulous art direction, clean geometry and editor’s sense of rhythm create that magic space where very human awkwardness can really thrive. Malin’s quietly cinematic eye, shaped by her background in stills photography, music videos and art films, bursts into surprising and memorable life in her commercial work. We’re thrilled to have them join our roster as we charge into 2026 with fresh energy and a bit of creative mischief”.
