Known for their unique, craft-driven and diverse perspective to filmmaking, Wolfberg’s addition marks a meaningful next step in a creative relationship that has been years in the making.
SOUP Film announce that Prague-based directing duo Wolfberg has officially joined its directors roster.
Known for their unique, craft-driven and diverse perspective to filmmaking, Wolfberg’s addition marks a meaningful next step in a creative relationship that has been years in the making.
Made up of Jan Kalvoda and Premysl Ponahly, Wolfberg deliver work that blends cinematic storytelling with playful visual ideas and ambitious technical craft.
Their films are united by a clear creative approach, thoughtful, surprising and always rooted in strong ideas, while never being tied to a single look or genre.
Wolfberg combine live action, in-camera effects, animation, and bespoke VFX, blending techniques to bring stories to life in the most engaging way.
Having worked in creative agencies, the duo take each project with a deep understanding of collaboration and concept, allowing them to elevate ideas without overcomplicating them.
This mix of versatility and curiosity fits SOUP Film’s approach: backing directors with unique voices and giving them the space to explore, experiment, and develop their craft.
“We’ve known and admired Wolfberg’s work for a long time, and our relationship has grown very naturally over the years,” says Isa Waschke, Head of Creative Talent at SOUP Film. “They bring such a thoughtful mix of craft, humour and originality to everything they do. We’re incredibly happy to officially welcome them to the roster and can’t wait to see what we create together.”
For SOUP Film, the signing reflects an ongoing commitment to creative diversity, building a roster that embraces different perspectives, techniques and storytelling techniques. For Wolfberg, joining SOUP Ffilm offers a collaborative home that values experimentation, trust and long-term creative partnerships.
