Sonic Union adds EP of Partnerships, Amanda Fink Mandell
Mandell will help foster and nurture both present and future client partnerships at Sonic Union.
NYC-based audio studio Sonic Union has added Amanda Fink Mandell as Executive Producer, Partnerships.
Working across Sonic Union’s Union Square and Bryant Park locations, Mandell will help foster and nurture both present and future client partnerships at Sonic Union.
With a demonstrated history of strategic business development in the music and advertising industries, Mandell will act as a driving force to bring about creative sound opportunities within and outside of the traditional advertising world. She comes to Sonic Union after her most recent post as Executive Producer at Mophonics, and even more recent role as a new Mother to Baby Delilah.
She is most known for producing a star-studded multi-singer cover of the Les Miserables power ballad “I Dreamed a Dream” for the Wildlife Conservation Film Festival’s spot “Dream” that earned a Gold Cannes Lion for Music. Her expertise across marketing and sales, music supervision, and producing original music composition will expand Sonic Union’s continually growing scope of immersive/creative sound expertise and client base.
Her hire complements the previous additions of Executive Creative Producer Halle Petro in 2017 as well as Composer/Sound Designer Rob Ballingall and Composer Oli Chang in 2018.
Notes Sonic Union Founder Adam Barone, “The majority of our projects are often in conjunction with other creative sources and we expect that they always will be. And yet we’ve found ourselves seeing a lot of opportunity for us to start with the creative aspect in several instances and seamlessly connect to that our more traditional audio post work.”
Adds Mandell, “Sonic Union is such a well-known name on the east coast and continues to cultivate a creative and fun environment for clients, engineers and composers all while staying at the forefront of innovation in post-production sound work. I’m excited to further expand into longer form and direct-to-brand opportunities. I have such a passion for, and get such enjoyment from, connecting people with mutually desired objectives on the right project, then seeing the magic happen.”
Sonic Union is coming off of a rewarding couple of months, with the recent success in its creative sound projects for Chase Bank, Bud Light, and media attention for a Doctors Demand Action campaign initiative to create new gun legislation, to name a few. Mandell will spearhead a strategic focus on forging connections with clients who require more depth and teamwork-oriented approaches within the entire creative process.
Amanda has familial pedigree in advertising. With a producer-turned-agent father as well as a copywriter-turned-game show creator in the family, Mandell was groomed from a young age to appreciate the craft of storytelling as an actress and singer growing up. With a B.F.A. from the University of the Arts, she thus began her professional career as a Music Supervisor with My Story Inc. where she sourced music and generated licensing deals with artists and publishers. This led into multiple roles over 9 years at Mophonics, where she oversaw production of original music for clients, music supervised several projects while establishing lasting partnerships with advertising agencies, music labels and industry publications.
