Somesuch and The Kusp announce partnership for 2023 programme
The Kusp's mission is building a diverse community of talent from under-represented backgrounds, and bridging access to work opportunities via mentorship, masterclasses and networking.
For the third consecutive year, Somesuch is partnering with London based social enterprise, The Kusp.
Building on the success of the last two years partnership, for 2023, Somesuch will fully fund 20 year-long memberships to The Kusp Club (which provides access to events and perks), receiving career guidance from Somesuch's leading industry experts, as well as facilitating interactive masterclasses, secret sessions, job opportunities year round, and a Directors showcase.
Continuing this partnership brings the opportunity to further elevate The Kusp's mission of building a diverse community of talent from under-represented backgrounds, and bridging access to work opportunities via mentorship, masterclasses and networking.
Somesuch General Manager, Kayleigh Leeson says: "We are thrilled to be continuing working with The Kusp for the third year. We’re at a sweet spot in our partnership with Amos and his team that has allowed us to look back on how our relationship has evolved, take stock of what has worked well and feel super motivated by having watched how each of their members is developing and growing within the industry.
Amos is an inspiring, thoughtful and endlessly generous human. It’s a no-brainer for us to go again with The Kusp and not only keep pushing forward with the elements of the partnership we know are working well but also to open up some exciting new opportunities for Year 3 like the Director Showcase."
The Kusp Founder, Amos Eretusi says: "Our ambition has always been to serve the underserved, and we're so proud to say we haven't been on this journey alone. The Kusp started in order to give diverse creatives a gateway and community for them to feel comfortable, but ultimately for them to build, grow and excel within film and TV, and Somesuch have believed in our vision from the get-go. So much so, that creatives have gone on to produce great work and get signed due to our partnership over the last two years, so to announce a third year is great news, and it gives us both an opportunity to turn it up a notch and explore new opportunities to continue our mission to serve the underserved!
From funding memberships to masterclasses, and improving access to on-set production experience and creating a new platform for aspiring directors to showcase their work to commissioners - we're super excited to get started again!"
