Toronto production company Someplace Nice has added Montreal director Soleil to its roster for representation.

Soleil’s love of visuals is rooted in pop culture and was fostered at an early age when she created playlists on her parents’ VHS player that featured artists with a bold visual sensibility, such as her creative hero, Bjork. She was also greatly influenced by the visually stunning music videos of the late ‘90s and early 2000s by acclaimed directors Spike Jonze and Michel Gondry.

After studying graphic design and beginning her career as an art director, she made the jump to video production, where she has created work characterised by its meticulous and colourful visual aesthetic, rhythmic graphic sequences, and her signature sense of femininity.

She has brought her singular aesthetic to brands as varied as Knix, Molson, Mejuri, Canada Goose and Shopify.

“I am over the moon to join the team at Someplace Nice, as we share the same values and passion for artful advertising,” says Soleil. “I am looking forward to creating amazing work with them.”

Someplace Nice was attracted to Soleil because of her exuberant, imaginative, colourful, and fresh approach to visual media, said owner and Executive Producer Estelle Weir. “She is a rich addition to our roster.”

“We have been watching Soleil’s ascent over the past few years and are wholly impressed with her boundless curiosity,” added Someplace Nice Partner and Executive Producer Chilo Fletcher. “Upon meeting her, we were even more dazzled by her path to this point, and her unwavering commitment to crafting work that inspires.”

Soleil will continue to be repped by Telescope for representation in Montréal.
