SMUGGLER signs Judith Veenendaal
The Dutch director joins SMUGGLER for representation in the UK.
Multi-award winning Dutch director Judith Veenendaal has joined production company SMUGGLER for UK representation.
Veenendaal grew up in a creative household, the daughter of a jazz musician and sculpture artists. She began her filmmaking career at The Hague’s Royal Academy of Art, delving into the world of storytelling through film, photography and the performing arts. With an instinctual grasp of light, composition, and the surreal, Judith weaves narratives that are visually engaging and deeply poetic.
She has gained a wealth of experience working with brands such as Amazon Music, BBC, Hyundai, Under Armour, G-Star, UNICEF and Lincoln, where she worked with Serena Williams.
Her accolades include Cannes Young Director Award, Creative Circle Best Commercial Director Award, and Vimeo Staff Picks. Her music video for Yseult, Noir, has achieved recognition at Ciclope and won Best Music Video at the Netherlands Film Festival.
“As a long time fan of Judith’s work, I’m beyond excited at the opportunity to finally collaborate with her. Her passion, creativity and unique visual expression makes her films impactful, soulful and original. Her work is both uplifting and deeply moving, making her a great partner for brands with a confident, cool aesthetic and identity.” - Lucy Kelly, SMUGGLER London
“I'm feeling honored to join the SMUGGLER roster - a place that pushes creative boundaries - alongside directors whose work I deeply admire. I look forward to our future collaborations." – Judith Veenendaal
