Siiri Koponen directs Silent Moments
Siiri Koponen’s commercial directing debut highlights minimalist filmmaking and human presence.
Siiri Koponen of production company Grillifilms has directed her first commercial film for new wellbeing company Silent Moments.
Longtime producer and short film director, Koponen approached the project from both sides, as filmmaker and as part of the client team alongside Anna El-Batruni and Nina Merkikoski.
The film was designed to function simultaneously as a brand piece and as an introduction to the company’s first offering, Silent Yoga, addressing both consumer and business audiences. Produced on a lean budget, the project leaned into clarity of idea rather than production scale.
The creative approach focused on capturing attention quickly while building atmosphere that carries through the entire piece. Traditional branding cues were intentionally held back until the end, trusting performance, visual rhythm and mood to guide the viewer, a choice shaped by how audiences engage with short-form social content today.

Production itself was deliberately minimal. The core technical team consisted essentially of Koponen and the cinematographer Johan Wasicki, with Koponen also operating camera. The setup included a rotating rig with performer Anna El-Batruni and a lightweight iPhone 16 build, allowing flexibility and focus on presence rather than equipment.
Working simultaneously as filmmaker and client sharpened the creative process: “It’s rare to sit on both sides of a project at the same time, as filmmaker and client. It gave me a deeper understanding of both perspectives.”
While the industry is increasingly shaped by new production technologies, this project deliberately leaned into organic performance and physical presence, an approach closely aligned with the wellbeing experience the film introduces.
Alongside directing, Koponen also produced and wrote the film.
