Directing duo rubberband. helms the latest campaign for Calvin Klein, The Language of Calvin Klein using the idea of a found poem as a jumping off-point.

“A found poem is one that is created using only words, phrases or quotations that have been selected and rearranged from the preexisting source”

The campaign features a diverse international cast including BLACKPINK's JENNIE, actor Damson Idris, actress and model Kaia Gerber, musician Moses Sumney, singer-songwriters Deb Never and Dominic Fike, as well as Martin Scorsese's daughter Francesca Scorsese and consists of a longform hero film and unique talent focused vignettes.

The anthem and intimate series of vignettes delve into the expression of language and tap into moments from everyday life such as daydreaming or talking to yourself. The piece is filmic, textural, and full of micro-moments that speak to larger truths and weave together to create a poem of images.  It’s the visceral convergence of the visual, auditory and spoken word and feels defiantly of the moment.

rubberband. have succeeded again at creating something lyrical, layered, avant-garde and deeply emotive.  Using a hybrid of planned and architected camera movements with a more vérité, naturalistic approach, they captured the intimacy and effortlessness of the brand accentuated through thought provoking details.  It’s the poetry of cinema in full-force, operating on multiple-levels as an extension of the “found poem” as the anchoring point.  With an artful simplicity, the film feels true to its talent, its creators and its audience through its raw elegance, unexpected but lived in feel, with a finger on the pulse of culture.
