Since its inception, POP Sound has led the way in providing the advertising, entertainment and gaming industries with high quality, creative audio post production services. The studio offers the latest in digital audio technology, world-class engineering & support personnel, and an uncompromising dedication to service. It is with this methodology that has enabled POP to attract a loyal client base among advertising agencies, motion picture studios, TV producers, game developers and others who insist upon quality and creativity in audio.

The studio itself has complete facilities for producing 5.1 surround sound and is one of few audio facilities capable of fulfilling the HD delivery requirements of all major broadcast and cable networks. POP Sound also features a fully-equipped, acoustically pristine ADR stage.

As you can imagine, clients abound.  Such notables include Michelin, GM, ETrade, Hewlett Packard, Coca Cola, Bud TV, Doritos, Nike Golf, Master Card and Pirelli, just to name a few.  With so much good buzz surrounding the company, SourceEcreative decided to track down the talents that comprise the popular company and make it 'so in-demand.'

Mitch Dorf

Mitch Dorf’s passion for sound has made him one of the industry’s busiest mixers. He has mixed spots for many of the world’s best known brands, including some that have debuted during the Super Bowl. An expert in surround sound, Dorf has also mixed numerous spots for cinema display and HD broadcast. In recognition for his work in advertising, the Association of Music Producers (AMP) named Dorf Mixer-of-the-Year in 2002.  In addition to the commercial realm, Dorf’s accomplishments in long-form media are equally impressive. In 2003 he won a Monitor Award for We Stand Alone Together, the companion documentary to HBO’s acclaimed mini-series Band of Brothers. He won an earlier Monitor Award for the television special The Rolling Stones: Stripped - and is alsoa 3-time Emmy nominee.  A graduate of the University of Miami’s prestigious Music Engineering Program, Dorf began his career with Atlanta audio post house New Age Sight and Sound. He later worked as a front-of-house mixer for Arista Records. In 1993, Dorf joined POP Sound as part of its original staff.

Peter Rincon

An original member of the POP Sound staff, Peter Rincon is one of the most accomplished mixers working in commercial advertising. He is a three-time Monitor Award winner and was a finalist in 2004 for Mixer-of-the Year honors from the Association of Music Producers (AMP). He has worked with virtually all of the top advertising agencies in the county and his credit list includes some of the most memorable advertising produced in the past decade and was also among the first mixers to gain expertise in preparing multichannel (5.1) mixes for cinema and HDTV spots. A Philadelphia native, Rincon studied classical piano as a youth and attended the University of Miami. He began his career with BRT Studios in Ft. Lauderdale and then joined Florida-based Zimmerman Advertising. After a three year stint at Soundtrack in New York, where he gained his first experience in national advertising, he moved to Los Angeles in 1990 to join the L.A. Studios. Three years later came aboard the newly-formed POP Sound.

Stephen Dickson

Stephen Dickson joined POP Sound in 1996. He initially worked as an assistant and then night mixer before moving up to his current role. At present, his main focus is mixing television spots where he enjoys collaborating with agency creatives and other clients, relishing his role as the final step before a project goes to air. In addition to his work in advertising, Dickson also has experience in documentaries, episodic television and independent film. A native of Toronto, Dickson graduated Magna Cum Laude from Berklee College of Music in Boston, where he earned the school’s coveted Music Production Scholar Award. After finishing school, he moved to Los Angeles and began his career as an engineer at the well known music house Elias Associates.

Tim West

Tim West, who joined POP Sound in 2000, is originally from Birmingham, England. He is a graduate of the University of West London and also owns a degree in music production engineering from the Royal Society of Arts. West became interested in recording at an early age and interned at BBC Pebble Mill as a teenager and worked as a music engineer, in multimedia and in live sound before finding his niche in commercial mixing. He held positions at the London studios Soul 2 Soul Studios, Matinee Sound and Vision, and Grand Central Studios, before making the move to Los Angeles and POP Sound. Initially a member of the studio’s Home Theater Department, West joined POP’s commercial team in 2003. In 2005, the Association of Music Producers (AMP) recognized West’s achievements in commercial mixing with a Special Merit Award for a Newcomer to the Field.  West also composes and scores short films in his free time, yet loves the diversity and the fast pace of mixing high-end television commercials.

Zac Fisher

Zac Fisher has been a member of the POP Sound team since 1996 and is broadly experience in mixing, including 5.1, sound editing and sound design. His credit list reflects the diversity of projects that flow through the studio, including reality TV, episodics, commercials, broadcast promos, music videos and long form projects.  A graduate of the University of Maryland, Fisher began his career with Henninger Video in Arlington, Virginia where he performed mixing and sound editing on projects for national broadcast and cable clients including Discovery and Fox Television. When he left there to join POP, his goal was to broaden the scope of his work and to associate himself with a company that is an acknowledged technical and creative leader. Fisher won a Monitor Award in 2001 for his work on the children’s program Jay Jay The Jet Plane.
