Generation Z, contrary to the letter that defines them, is the most awake generation to ever exist.

They know what they want, and they don’t compromise their progress. But when you are this loud, everyone will have an opinion about you.

"Difficult to work with, quick to quit." Studies present the new generation as if they’re from another planet. They may be, given that Earth today bears no resemblance to that of previous decades.

Combined with the socio-economic crisis, the insecurity young people feel about their future is skyrocketing. What stance can a bank, traditionally an ultra-conservative institution, take in this conversation?

Piraeus Bank supports young people. It doesn’t just follow their habits with innovative products; it responds to a genuine social need: "How do I enter a job market that has decided I’m not prepared for it?". Through Project Future, an initiative for learning soft skills and digital expertise, Piraeus is building a bridge between today’s executives and tomorrow’s interns.

For this cohort’s promotion, we invited young people to speak for themselves in a friendly debate. Facing them was Nancy: an AI HR Manager. She was programmed to believe every stereotype against young people and reproduce them with structured arguments and a willingness for dialogue.

She doesn’t represent proper HR practices, but something deeper: the mistrust and the generational gap in the workplace. Thus, a creative experiment began. Nine representatives of Gen Z countered Nancy's arguments in a live dialogue, discussing various themes.

And the result? The solution was found somewhere in the middle, following a realisation by the AI HR Manager herself: "If we combine the experiences of my generation with the new ideas of yours, we will find a new balance."

"We thank Nancy for writing the most fitting conclusion to this debate, or, if you prefer, this debAIte all on her own."
