Ludovic Gontrand has directed the latest music video for American hip hop artist, Pink Siifu for new song, Devil's Advocate, co produced by Pulse Films and Hamlet.

The film's foundation stems from several concepts: the track's hypnotic nature, the mythology of Faust and Gontrand's fascination with documentary footage of evangelists. The feeling of a room full of people giving themselves to one person on stage and the underlying commentary on the lines blurring between belief, manipulation, performance and possession felt close to the track.

The film became a mixture of all these textures and meanings. A big, chaotic show becoming a hybrid of a concert, a sermon, a scam, and a possession. Pink Siifu plays the devil on the preacher’s shoulder, slowly taking over the whole room like a spiritual robbery. He is not the preacher, but the force behind him.

Working with 100 extras to help make the room feel alive, the premise was for the film to feel like a real ceremony with an injection of surrealism. Between the track and the entrancing visuals, the film is alive with a raw, encapsulating energy.

Gontrand said: "I have been a huge fan of Pink Siifu for years, with great respect for his artistic vision and music. After becoming entranced by the energy of the Devil's Advocate track, I was very excited to share my ideas, which thankfully he loved, and am so pleased to see it now bought to light".

Pink Siifu also co-wrote the song with his wife, SS.Sylver.
