London-based company OB Management has signed director Pete Novosel to its roster.

Having grown up in Perth, Western Australia, Novosel says he spent his childhood ploughing through cinema and dreaming of one day becoming a director. His journey to achieving that goal took an accidental detour when he stumbled into advertising and enjoyed a long career as a creative director.

After agency life Novosel went on to direct commercials for brands such as DIRECTV, NFL, American Express, Google, Sony, Mercedes, Dr Pepper, Sprint and Adam & Eve Adult Toys, to name a few.

During his time in advertising Novosel has worked in London, Australia, Asia and the US, which, he says, "has given me a wider perspective, not only on the world, but on developing a uniquely personal tone that blurs the line between comedy and drama."

Most recently Novosel helped launch Houseplant, working in close creative collaboration with Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg by writing and directing the video content for their cannabis brand and helping bring their vision to life. He has been honoured with accolades including awards from the Clios, D&AD, One Show, Effies and Cannes Lions.

When not working on a commercial set Novosel works on narrative projects, including his most recent short film called Teller Number Four.

“Pete effortlessly straddles the worlds of advertising and entertainment," said Otis Bell, CEO at OB. "Not only does he thrive on directing brand campaigns but he’s also a naturally gifted writer and filmmaker with an abundance of smart and funny ideas. It’s going to be a pleasure introducing him to the UK market.”
