Park Village has bolstered its directorial roster with the addition of BAFTA and RTS award-winning directing duo Nothing Lost.
Nothing Lost (AKA Chas Appeti and Junior Okoli) stormed onto the scene in 2019 winning the Saatchi & Saatchi new director’s showcase for their film Woke. The pair make up a formidable creative duo, with Chas Appeti having carved out a respected career as a music video director and DOP before joining forces with Junior Okoli, who is a passionate director, writer and storyteller.
The pair’s friendship stems from their mutual insights and experiences growing up on the wrong side of inner-city London and Kent, as well as their shared passion for filmmaking, music and “creating dope shit”. The result; fresh and unapologetic thinking that leads to honest and beautiful storytelling, rooted in popular culture. They share, “We want to create the visuals and the stories that most people can’t, because stories like those last forever”.
Since joining forces, the pair have gone from strength to strength, combining their rich creative backgrounds across music and filmmaking to create the BAFTA and RTS award-winning Amazon Original series, Jungle. The groundbreaking six-part series for Amazon UK follows the connected lives of two strangers in inner-city London, viewed through the prism of the UK grime and drill music scene and told using a blend of rap music and dialogue. The hit series also led to the pair being named one of Variety’s ‘Top 10 In Europe to Watch, 2022’
Nothing Lost are currently in development with their next longform project for Amazon, and in the meantime are turning their attention to the advertising world, keen to make their mark in the commercial arena.
Adam Booth, Managing Partner of Park Village comments, “Chas and Junior provide the fresh and innovative take to storytelling that our industry needs to create content that gets audiences inspired and talking. Their approach to filmmaking stylistically leans into commercials and will be a huge asset to our advertising partners, and longform partners alike - particularly as we continue to venture into the world of brand funded episodic and original content.”
