Courtney caught the directing bug as a runner in his late teens. Having left school at 16, exploring the many disciplines of a film set so young equipped him with experience and skills that would put him leaps ahead of those that chose the film school path instead. Self-taught and fiercely determined Courtney would go so far as to put his own money into his very first music video on a track for an unknown band (at the time) called Bastille.
Courtney has now worked with artists such as Ann Marie, Rita Ora, Kacey Musgraves, Marshmello, Khalid, and Dermot Kennedy, gathering award nominations for best video and best direction aplenty along the way. But his fearless ambition always had its sights set on the advertising world. It was a seamless transition, and Courtney has now lent his distinctive voice to many brands including the BBC, Havana Club, Superdry, Bacardi, New Balance, KFC, Trainline, Puma and Credit Suisse.
