CASEY, the New York-based production company, announces the completion of it’s latest commercial project Liquid Desire, a brand film for Diageo’s Grand Old Parr Scotch Whisky, directed by Cokau

Conceived by agency Gale and produced by CASEY in conjunction with Wright Film, the campaign launches in Brazil and Colombia, two of the brand’s most vital growth markets, and marks a new visual chapter for one of Scotch whisky’s most storied names.

The campaign is built around Old Parr’s defining tension: a whisky that is simultaneously smooth and bold, what the agency’s creative articulates as “Tamed taste. Unbridled spirit.” That duality drives every visual decision. Cokau renders it in colour: cool electric blues and deep shadow govern the “smooth” register, while saturated amber, burnt orange, and smouldering red ignite its bolder side. The two palettes collide and merge across the film, just as the liquid does, refined enough for any palate, raw enough to surprise.

Set in a spotlit rodeo arena, the film stages a cinematic western duel between a smooth cowboy and an untamed rider, each a face of the brand’s personality. Liquid Desire is filled with unexpected angles and slow-motion liquid pours, just like the iconic whisky bottle perpetually tilted on its corner.

The production was shot across two locations that reflect the campaign’s own duality. The live action sequences, horses, dust, and the full sweep of the western duel, were filmed on location at a working arena in Mexico City, grounding the brand’s wild side in something visceral and real. Thorough casting was conducted to find real riders with serious roping skills. All of this was shot in a covered arena fully blacked out in Duvetene to maximising the lighting and effects. The dynamic camera effects were achieve through the use of an Arri Trinity.

The tabletop and liquid work, demanding a different kind of precision entirely, was executed at a specialised motion-control studio in Bordeaux, France, where Cokau’s command of high-end product cinematography and controlled macro environments brought the golden liquid to life with the same intensity as the action sequences that surround it.

Cokau, the directing partnership of Achille Coquerel and Thomas Kauffmann, have built a reputation for luxury work that lives at the intersection of tactile beauty and emotional charge. Their eye for refraction, material tension, and the loaded still moment made them a natural fit for a campaign that needed desire to be palpable, not stated. “The brief asked us to make the liquid irresistible,” noted Cokau. “We wanted every frame to feel like something you could almost taste.”

Liquid Desire is representative of the work CASEY was built to produce: campaigns where craft and commerce operate at the same level,” said Patrick Casey, EP and Managing Partner at CASEY. “Cokau understands that desire has a texture. You feel it before you understand it. That instinct is exactly what this brand needed”
