OkayStudio launches Final Frame
Final Frame is an industry-first post-production initiative elevating the next wave of culture-defining filmmakers.
OkayStudio has announced the launch of Final Frame, an industry-first post-production initiative designed to elevate ambitious short films by directors poised to define the next wave of contemporary cinema and the advertising industry.
Final Frame is an in-kind investment by OkayStudio, giving selected directors access to the studio’s world-class edit, VFX, colour, and finishing artists and resources. The initiative represents a total in-kind value of £100,000 in subsidised post-production services, supporting high-calibre short films with clear creative ambition and strong potential for an international festival run. The initiative is focused on directors who have already established a creative voice and are ready to push their next short film to the highest possible technical and creative standard, with a clear view toward major international festivals, cultural impact, and critical recognition.
“World-class post-production can be the difference between a film reaching its potential or falling short,” says Jack Howard, Executive Producer and Commercial Director at OkayStudio. “Final Frame closes the gap between bold creative vision and exceptional execution. It allows us to invest our time, talent, and resources directly into work we believe in, ensuring films are finished with uncompromising craft.”
Selected projects will work closely with OkayStudio’s award-winning artists, whose credits span global brands, leading agencies, major streamers, and BAFTA-nominated work, gaining creative partnership across every stage of post-production. Submissions will be reviewed by the Final Frame Advisory Board, a collective of leading filmmakers, executive producers, commissioners, and post-production specialists from across the industry, ensuring each project is assessed on creative ambition, cultural relevance, and executional potential.
“This initiative is our way of giving back to the creative community that inspires us every day,” says Nikolaj Belzer, Co-Founder and CEO of OkayStudio. “We want to collaborate with directors who already have momentum and are ready to take their work to the next level, applying the same care, craft, and creative rigour that defines everything we do.”
Final Frame is open to directors who have completed at least one prior short film or director-led project and are now developing their next work with a clear creative and distribution strategy. To qualify, projects must meet a minimum production budget (£25,000 for fiction, £15,000 for non-fiction) and include a clear marketing or festival plan.
In its first year, Final Frame supported five standout projects across fiction and documentary, each selected for bold storytelling and cinematic ambition. The 2025 Alumni includes author, filmmaker and gal-dem founder Liv Little, BAFTA-winning producer Tobi Kyeremateng, writer-director Olly Ginelli, and BFI-funded filmmakers Christopher Chuky and Niyadre.
