Odelay Films start the new year on a high with the arrival of director Audrey Ellis Fox to their roster.

Fox first caught the attention of Odelay thanks to her bold and engaging storytelling. As a narrative led filmmaker she crafts inventive and highly evocative worlds with compelling characters, dynamic set design, and surreal camera techniques. Her inspiration comes from her passion for the visual arts, theatre and popular culture and through her work she aspires to create films that take viewers to other realms.

On the commercial front, Fox has written and directed for clients such as Amazon, Farfetch, Sony, Pacsun & Vogue. Her extensive music videos include films for artists signed to labels from Epic, Columbia, Republic and Warner.

In 2022 she was nominated for an MTV VMA for her directing work for Avril Lavigne, Travis Barker, and Blackbear.

Fox is currently in development for her debut feature. While her short films Retreat and Patricia Drive played at Oscar-qualifying festivals including Hollyshorts, LA Shorts, Urbanworld (HBO), Rhode Island International Film Festival, Maryland Film Festival, and SLIFF.

Fox’s spirit, style and approach to filmmaking blends perfectly with Odelay’s ethos, and they are delighted to be sharing her impressive and ambitious work with a whole new audience in the UK.

Of Audrey’s arrival, MD of Odelay Films Prudence Beecroft shares: “Audrey is a fantastic find and we are delighted she agreed to join the Odelay team. I was initially struck by her unique visual flare. She draws upon cultural influences in fashion and design creating particularly fresh relevant work; from music videos to her commercial work it all oozes with stunning production design, rich colours, sublime cinematography, creative transitions and a strong sense of pace and rhythm, from the snappy to the sensitive, smooth and ethereal. Audrey is not only fantastically talented, but also humble, a grafter and easy to talk to.  I know our clients in the UK will love collaborating with her, and we’re forward to getting her over for her first UK production soon”.

Commenting on joining Odelay Fox says: “My directing is rooted in the nexus of narrative, fashion, music, and pop culture.  I am drawn to surreal and splashy visuals that playfully push the boundaries of conventional storytelling to create a unique and impactful experience for viewers.  I am thrilled to have found an incredible partner in Odelay, a company that not only shares my creative taste but also my environmental values for sustainable filmmaking.  I am excited to join their talented roster and begin my UK journey!”
