Award-winning production company new—land, signs Abdi Ibrahim, a rising New Talent across commercials, music videos, branded content, and stills.

Beginning his career as a photographer, Ibrahim established his own unique visual language in the fashion world, shooting portraits and campaigns for editorials. Since then, he has gone on to direct commercials and music videos, stapling himself as a filmmaker.

Ibrahim debuted his filmmaking career with a short documentary for Apple Music, and has since gone on to collaborate with Lacoste, the NFL, Subaru, and more. His work has also been featured in publications, such as the New Yorker, Harper’s Bazaar, Vanity Fair, and Esquire.

“Abdi Ibrahim is a promising, new director whose work, still and moving, possesses a sense of openness and honesty, which chimes beautifully with our way of life at new—land. We are delighted for him to be joining our New Talent Roster, and cannot wait to join his creative journey and work together to bring some new stories to life.” said Trine Pillay, Executive Producer and MD at new—land.

Ibrahim’s work, both in stills and in motion, is comprised of visceral imagery and visual storytelling. Sharing new—land’s vision for visual sensibility and authenticity, Ibrahim's work captures humans in their most natural state, which often touches on the surreal. Now, in partnership with new—land, he hopes to immerse himself in the world of narratives and short films, and further explore his love for storytelling in the commercial and music world.

“I am so excited to join the new—land family and to be able to create at such a high level!” adds Abdi Ibrahim.
