Music Video Production Studio Hound Launches in Los Angeles
Industry veterans Missy Galanida and Isaac Rice launch new division of production company Rabbit.
Los Angeles-based music video studio Hound has launched with Missy Galanida and Isaac Rice as Executive Producers. Hound, the music video division of bicoastal production company Rabbit, boasts a roster of eighteen directors, including Cameron Duddy, Christopher Sims, Joseph Toman and Director X. Collectively, the directors on Hound’s roster have worked for some of the top recording artists in the industry, including Drake, Bruno Mars, Usher and many more.
“Hound is a breeding ground for young, stand out talent from the music video world,” says Rabbit Executive Producer and partner Joby Barnhart. “Hound aims to bring new opportunities to directors coming up in music videos.”
Hound is already busy turning out high profile clips for major recording artists. Its first two projects include videos for pop star Selena Gomez’s “Hands to Myself,” directed by Alek Keshishian, and a music video/promo mix for Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, S.O.B. and the Beats Pill+ portable wireless speaker, from director Joseph Toman. In addition to producing music videos for A-list artists, Hound also features a commercial production arm, which produces spots for major advertisers.
Rabbit gains from the new company in that Ms. Galanida will also serve as EP at Rabbit. The commercial prodco has signed several of Hound’s directors for commercial representation, including Director X, Cameron Duddy and Christopher Sims. Several Rabbit directors also join the Hound music video lineup.
Executive Producer Missy Galanida joins Hound from Hollywood-based commercial production and production studio DNA, where she served as Executive Producer and directors’ representative for commercials and music videos. With deep connections to directing talent as well as recording artists and executives in the music industry, Galanida is a respected name in the music video business community.
“It is a great opportunity to found a company that is connected with a production powerhouse such as Rabbit,” says Galanida.
Fellow DNA veteran Isaac Rice joins Galanida as Executive Producer, having served as a directors’ rep overseeing high-profile artists including Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Eminem, Green Day, Alicia Keys and many more.
