Minneapolis-based creative agency mono announced that it is heading west to open a new office in San Francisco, CA, effective immediately. mono’s Director of New Business Jeffrey Gorder, Group Account Director Jane Delworth and Creative Director Paula Biondich will lead the new office. Gorder and Delworth will be elevated to Managing Directors of mono San Francisco; Biondich will be elevated to Managing Creative Director of the new office.

Following a year of tremendous growth in 2014 – including the addition of new clients Sperry, Propel, The North Face, Mozilla, and Smashburger; an increase in revenue by 49%; and nearly doubling the agency headcount to over 100 employees – this new office is a reflection of the agency’s continued growth and track record of developing effective and creative campaigns for its clients.

mono’s new business tear is only gaining momentum with highly successful work for new accounts Mozilla and The North Face Retail Marketing already in market and additional new business wins set to be announced in the coming months, all of which will be handled by the mono San Francisco office. The shop will be a standalone entity working directly with mono’s West Coast clients, while retaining the agency’s unique agency culture that is designed around the power of simplicity to create meaningful change in their clients’ brands and business.

“We are eager to expand our horizons and identify fresh opportunities for new business and talent on the West Coast,” said Jim Scott, founder and Managing Partner of mono. “This move has been a long time in the making, but the agency’s immense growth in the past year truly validated our ambition to evolve. mono is made up of creative and forward-thinking people that will undoubtedly deliver innovative work for our West Coast clients.”

“Culturally, San Francisco was a natural choice for us,” said Michael Hart, Founder and Managing Creative Director at mono. “Not only are our client relationships expanding westward, but mono’s entrepreneurial spirit, strong design sensibility and unconventional thinking align perfectly with the forward-thinking, innovation-driven atmosphere of the Bay Area. We have great ambitions for this move and are excited to hit the ground running.”

“Minneapolis has played a vital role in shaping the agency culture and success of mono,” said Jane Delworth, new Managing Director of mono San Francisco. “That said, we are thrilled by the opportunity to tap into additional pools of young, innovative, tech-driven talent on the West Coast to generate ever widening perspectives for the mono network.”
