Kicking off 2014 in style, a bit of Italian glamour was added to SourceEcreative’s impressive global checklist of Presents screenings with an exciting showcase in Milan on January 22nd. Following on from their recent Toronto and Shanghai excursions (not to mention the extremely popular London Christmas homecoming), the night was filled with new content, perennial favourites and an excited audience of Italy’s best agency and production figures to enjoy it all.

Fronted by Worldwide Editor Jamie Madge and SEC’s very own Italian charmer Attilio Gianfrancesco, the evening saw a slew of cracking shorts, top promos and eye-popping experimental pieces vie for attention. In the mix were Milan-based directors Virgilio Villoresi (his outstanding ‘Submarine Test January 1967’ capturing imaginations), Alvise Avati (the spec commercial ‘Beans’ causing chuckles) and collective Dadomani (shocking and delighting all with ‘The Box – xxx’), holding their won amongst the best the world had to offer.

With representatives from companies like (h) films, Filmmaster, Y&R, Leagas Delaney and Publicis in attendance, the response to the evening was overwhelmingly positive. “The screening was really informative,” stated Filmgood’s Emanuela Cavazzini. “The work was new, varied and very interesting from both technical and direction standpoints. Plus, it was international, not simply UK, which for us is extremely useful. It goes to show that Sourceecreative is an absolutely vital research tool for us in our constant search for directing talent.”
