Meet Hjernen & Hjertet for LB Group
Director Anders Morgenthaler speaks with the heart in new animated TV Ad series for LB Group.
Insurance, right? It’s just one of those things we need to have, but it’s really not something any of us dreams about.
In collaboration with the great creative minds at &Co / NOA, Anders Morgenthaler created a heartwarming story about the process of finding your next insurance provider.
And who better to tell that story than a giant animated Heart and Brain?
“It’s such an amazing idea that was presented to me by Jonathan Slyngborg Fjord and Sophie Hotchkiss at the agency; the rational and emotional aspects captured me from the beginning. What I can add is to almost turn it into family entertainment. At the same time, I only work with green transitioning or do-good storytelling, and from the start, I could really see myself in how LB Group operates as a 100% member-owned organisation. I knew I could help scope amazing character-driven stories,” says director Plotworks Anders Morgenthaler.

LB Group is a member-owned organisation that was originally known for serving teachers only. However, they wanted to tell the story that they now cater to many different academic fields and have significantly grown in size over the years.
“I really enjoy the professional challenge of taking something dry and boring and making it entertaining for the whole family, and I think we’ve succeeded very well with that. I already have many ideas on how to develop it even further, almost to the point where the audience looks forward to a commercial. That’s my goal going forward with the concept. I look forward to wxorking on it further!”
Morgenthaler continues: “I aimed specifically at half of the viewers would simply feel entertained, while the other half would be curious to learn more. I want the storytelling to be inclusive, and it was important to me that both characters were made extremely likeable, a detail I spent a lot of time delving into. The films become inclusive and appeal broadly in that way. My hope was that maybe even kids would ask for more stories about the funny Heart and the know-it-all Brain!”
Fun fact: The voice of the Heart is actually done by Anders Morgenthaler himself, while the Brain is voiced by the well-regarded actress Mia Lyhne.
