new—land welcomes rising star Louise Wachtmeister to their roster.

Wachtmeister is Swedish-American, born in New York and raised in Stockholm. Her directorial debut for the Swedish Cancer Society, inspired by her own experience of losing her mother to cancer, was awarded Gold at the 1.4 Awards and Silver at Ciclope.

In 2025, she was named a Rising Star at Roygalan, where the jury highlighted her distinctive visual language, sensitivity, and marked maturity as a storyteller.

Wachtmeister is drawn to the complexities beneath people’s behaviour. The fear beneath anger, the tenderness beneath distance, and the small moments that can quietly change a life. Shaped by lived experience, she brings sensitivity and precision to her storytelling, finding emotional depth in seemingly ordinary situations and creating characters that feel specific, contradictory and deeply human.

“Louise has already demonstrated that she has a strong voice of her own and the ability to combine emotional precision with a confident visual language. We instinctively feel that we have a lot in common with Louise and are very excited to build on that together,” says Sophie Tamm Christensen, Executive Producer at new—land.

“I’m really excited to be joining new—land. It’s a company with a strong identity where the work consistently feels thoughtful, distinctive and beautifully crafted.

What also stands out to me is the people behind it. There’s a warmth and generosity to the company that I really value, alongside a group of incredibly talented directors that I feel humbled to become part of.

I’m someone who constantly pushes myself to grow and raise the bar, and I have a strong feeling that new—land is a place that will nurture that ambition. I’m looking forward to being surrounded by people who share that drive and seeing where we can take things together.” adds Wachtmeister.

Wachtmeister is represented for commercials by new–land in Sweden, Denmark, the UK and The Netherlands.
