Production company Slash Dynamic announce their most recent signing: Konrad Begg. Influenced by his native Scotland, a land of dramatic light and natural beauty, interwoven with thrilling action, Begg’s spot work does not merely engage the viewer; it pulls them into the narrative with high-energy visuals, cinematic style, and a wide range of emotions.

A car and motorcycle enthusiast with a passion for conceptual filmmaking, Begg is more than comfortable working with high-end automotive clients. He recently wrapped his first production with Slash Dynamic: an impressive 4-day shoot for Zimmerman. The complex shoot involved choreographing twelve cars and showcasing their semi-autonomous driving function at random speeds and positions into order and uniformity. Filming in Phoenix, Arizona allowed for production to fully shut down a highway and take advantage of the great roads the city has to offer. Such a bold and ambitious project was the perfect one to kick off the relationship with Slash Dynamic, and the creative team from Zimmerman.

Begg explains, “I have always wanted to surrounded myself with passionate creative people to collaborate with. In the constantly changing environment within the industry, it’s essential to explore new ways to tell our stories and wow ever more discerning audiences. Slash Dynamic, I feel, shares this philosophy. A young vibrant company steered by a brilliant EP: Tanya Cohen's excitement for what we do as filmmakers and storytellers remains fresh and infectious. This coupled with her vast experience are qualities that run through her whole company from top to bottom. We're still buzzing after our first project together and it was clear from day one that Slash Dynamic would be the perfect home for me in the US. I look forward to many more projects in the future with Tanya and her team."

Zimmerman added, “Konrad recently wrapped an impressive shoot for Zimmerman Advertising and a major car brand. The complex shoot involved choreographing twelve vehicles and showcasing their driving technology which can help bring the chaos and disorder of stop & go highway traffic into order and uniformity. Filming in Phoenix, Arizona allowed for production to fully shut down a highway and take advantage of the great roads the city has to offer. Such a bold and ambitious project was the perfect one to kick off the relationship with Slash Dynamic, and the creative team from Zimmerman.”

An award winning feature film, television, and commercials director, Konrad’s work has been recognized by BAFTA, Emmy, and The Royal Television Society. Konrad’s feature directorial debut, Songs For Amy, achieved resounding critical success upon a worldwide cinematic release, and went on to receive recognition for ‘Outstanding Achievement in Filmmaking’ at the Newport Beach Film Festival, and was in the Official Selection for the Galway Film Festival, as well as a raft of other festivals. In television, Konrad has directed many episodes of the BBC series Top Gear. He has worked with brands such as Range Rover, Ford, Shell, Toyota, and Ferrari equally at ease, creating large-scale dramatic stunt sequences and naturalistic films featuring vast landscapes that create a sense of adventure and wonder. Konrad has filmed a helicopter flying and dropping a VW Beatle from 5,000 feet in the Salt Flats of South Africa, choreographed high speed drifts and stunts with Ken Block inside the Ford Factory, launched Bear Grylls out of a six-story building onto an airbag, and bungeed a Lotus F1 racing car from the top of a crane, with Top Gear’s Stig at the wheel.  Cohen shares, “Konrad is one of the most technically skilled directors I’ve ever worked with, and highly involved in every minute detail of the project he’s bringing to life. It’s rare that you find a director that is equally confident with mind-blowing action sequences and auto-centric content, as he is with performance-driven storytelling. He’s a cinephile, who is well versed in the latest toys and technology. The perfect blend of intimate, real moments meets amped spectacle."

An intuitive storyteller, Konrad values the life and feeling that spontaneity can breathe into a film, and he follows his instincts in productions when what is scripted must make room for what is organically happening in life in front of his eyes and the camera. His priority is to always create a visually stunning and emotionally impactful film in camera and in the moment that will resonate with and inspire his audience. He also has a love and passion for working with actors and getting the very best performances he can out of the collaboration. Konrad’s work ranges from sensitive and minimalistic to high-energy, stylized imagery, but consistently maintains a connection with viewers through a keen awareness of the human element.
