Production company Knucklehead welcome director Diego Nuñez Irigoyen to the family.

 He brings with him an impressive library of wildly entertaining work and a shelf lined with no fewer than 20 Cannes Lions to date.

Whether showcasing the best in surreal and situation-based comedy or delving into dramatic narratives coupled with a compelling visual language and a rich photographic style – Diego’s work is motivated by his love of performance and his celebration of the craft lies at the core of every project on his reel.

Diego’s career began in his creatively fruitful home country of Argentina, studying film at Buenos Aires Film University followed by literature. He found his passion for directing actors and improvisation during his time in the theatre where he studied a wide range of playful theatre methods under some of the most respected and well-knows professors in Buenos Aires. The resulting collection of diverse skills and directorial wizardry was the perfect cocktail for generating award winning comedy performances, which is exactly what Diego went on to do.

His talent quickly translated into the commercial world, using his keen sense of humor and wicked knack of performance to direct highly successful campaigns for the likes of Toyota, Unilever, Ikea and Samsung to name a few. Recognition for his work includes 8 Cannes Lions for the unique social experiment Almost Identical for Belmont / Trident gum. The project not only showcased his directing but also his creative development, having created the visual concept of the art installations as well as the design of the interactive experience.

As well as Beldent Almost Identical work that has achieved Cannes Lions accolades are Andes The fairest Night of All, Tulipan Clean Talk, and BGH Big Noses Most recently his work for Ponds Men Bodybuilder has won an APAC Effie award and is shortlisted for the upcoming One Show festival in America.
